Canada - Your Future is in Education

Wake up Canada. Lets think about educating our investments well, yes, our investments, the children. Lets, oh I don't know, like say, think about free university education. Books and supplies can still be paid for by students. But the education, that must be free. Why cant we do this? What is stopping us? I know we are debating the hugely imporlong form census, but, here's a concept, lets debate something radical, like education? Our future! I dont think importing people and insisting they bring their abhorrent behaviour with them, is the answer. Time to have an identity perhaps. Time to say, we live this way in Canada, and if you would like to join us and become Canadian, and make this your new home in your new country, and you would like to share our identity, come on in!!! But I digress. Back to the first radical idea - educating our own to such a high standard that eventually we will rally have the best country to live in, the best in the world. Do the math. Please. Cost of student loans. Cost of trying to collect student loans. Cost of staff chasing down student loans...write offs, legal fees, time wasted on administration...lets put it this way, best educated citizenry...priceless! Make education affordable to those who otherwise may never have a chance. Charge foreign students a lot for our precious spaces - everyone will want to come here, we will be the best.... I think our National moto should be 'the possibilities are endless' and I think Canada, the land of opportunity, should finally be, all it can be.

Here's another radical thought Canada! Let's stop killing our childrens education by throttling it in bureaucracy. Lets go, one curriculum in every school at every level. Lets get rid of every school board and board and go to federal control with provincial delivery. Lets get our arts and sports education back into schools and lets not tax the parents any more for our shortcomings. Any child in the country should be able to walk out of his/her 3rd grade classroom in Lethbridge and into his/her new classroom in Barrie and be confident that they will at no disadvantage. School hours should be extended and holidays shortened. School should start at 5 years with kindergarden at 4 years. Just another wild and wacky idea on how to remove the weeds choking our parents and children...
